We are thrilled to invite the Ball State community to tour the Solar Decathlon Build Challenge competition project, the Alley House, an affordable, net-zero energy, duplex designed by the College of Architecture and Planning students. This is a unique opportunity to tour the house and learn how students integrated sustainable building techniques and renewable energy technologies into every aspect of the design and construction.

Ball State Day at the Alley House is April 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The house is located at 201 N. Temple Ave, Indianapolis. In addition to Alley House tours, the event will feature music, food, and activities. Guest speakers will begin at 1:00 p.m.—including Ball State President Geoffrey S. Mearns and CAP Dean David Ferguson.

This two-year competition provided CAP students with opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world problems. The competition allows our students to collaborate and work together in teams to create innovative solutions to energy-efficient housing that will have a positive impact on our environment and our communities.

We encourage you to bring your family and friends to join in the festivities, learn about our Solar Decathlon project, and perhaps learn some sustainable take-aways you can implement in your home.

We want to celebrate and share the Alley House with you!
Join us for a tour of the house.
