You Can Easily Report Suspicious Emails Now

April 07, 2020
The Office of Information Security would like to share a new feature available on your email platform when using Windows, Mac, Outlook Webmail, and Microsoft Outlook app for iPhone and Android that allows for easy reporting of suspicious email.

How do I report suspicious or junk email?
To report a suspicious or junk email when using Outlook Webmail and/or the Microsoft Outlook app, open the email and select the three dots/ellipsis. If you are using Outlook email on your desktop, either go to the top right of your email message and select the icon that says Report Message or open the email and the Report Message is also available there.

Upon selecting Report Message, you will have the option to select the following options.
  • Mark as junk
  • Mark as phishing
  • Mark as not junk
Emails that are marked as junk will go to your junk folder. Upon marking an email for phishing, the Office of Information Security will be able to review the email for malicious activity and block the email going forward and keep the University safe.
