With the upcoming implementation of Workday Time Tracking, we want to provide helpful information about delegation and how it supports your role in approving employee timecards and absence requests.
What to Know About Delegation
Delegation allows you to temporarily assign the timecard approver and absence request responsibilities to another employee so that approvals can continue without interruption while you are away.
Delegations should be set only for the specific dates you will be unavailable. Please note that delegations are reviewed periodically to ensure they remain active only during the appropriate timeframe.
When to Use Delegation
Delegation should be used any time you anticipate being unavailable to complete your approval responsibilities due to vacation or time away from the office such as conferences or business travel.
If an unexpected situation occurs and you are unable to assign a delegate in advance, please have someone from your department email Kate Stoss (kpstoss@bsu.edu) and copy Heather Bright (habright@bsu.edu) and Kaelyn Warrner (kaelyn.warrner@bsu.edu).
