Work one-on-one with a professor or professional staff and earn a stipend

January 20, 2025

Hello Students,

I want to let you know about the Teacher-Scholar Program at Ball State that is especially designed for undergraduates with no prior research experience who are also in their 1st or 2nd year or are transfer students in their 1st year.  This program offers an exciting opportunity for you to work with a professor or professional staff mentor on research or a creative project for 5 hours a week.  It is a great way to learn more about a field and how research is conducted, make connections with professionals and professors, and get one-on-one academic and career-related advice that is so valuable in college.  You also earn a $750 stipend for the work you do with your mentor.

If you are interested, please go to our website and click on "Apply Now".  On our website, you'll see a list of potential mentors looking for student researchers to collaborate with them on a project, or feel free to ask us about someone you don’t see there and whether you could work with them. Please contact us at tsprogram@bsu.edu if you have any questions or need help in connecting with any of these or other potential mentors.

We have limited spots so don’t wait, apply now.  We look forward to receiving your applications!!

Best Wishes,

Stephanie L. Simon-Dack
Vice Provost for Research
Professor of Psychological Science
