Today, members of the Ball State community gathered in Whitinger Building, Room 306, to celebrate the dedication of the Srinivasan Sundaram “Be Good” Classroom—a space that honors the remarkable career and enduring influence of Dr. Srinivasan “Srini” Sundaram.

President Geoffrey S. Mearns and Dr. Cathy DuBois, Bryan Dean of the Miller College of Business, led the ceremony, recognizing Dr. Sundaram’s 27 years of service, leadership, and mentorship at Ball State. The dedication celebrates not only his contributions to teaching and research but also the values he has lived by and instilled in others—excellence, integrity, and kindness.

This meaningful tribute was made possible through the generosity of Tyler Wealth Management, founded by Ball State alumnus Rob Tyler. A 1995 graduate of the Miller College of Business, Mr. Tyler has maintained a strong connection to the University as an adjunct instructor, community leader, and steadfast supporter of student success. His gift ensures that future generations of students will continue to learn and thrive in a space inspired by one of Ball State’s most respected educators.

Dr. Sundaram’s legacy includes award-winning teaching in nationally ranked programs, impactful research in corporate and entrepreneurial finance, and service to both the university and local community. His dedication extended beyond the classroom—serving as a faculty mentor, department chair, and even as a soccer coach at Burris Laboratory School and the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities.
