What is Mental Health?

Do you know the difference between mental health and mental illness? Mental health refers to your psychological, social, and emotional wellbeing. You can have poor mental health but not have a diagnosed mental illness such as depression or anxiety.

Some important steps you can take to improve your mental health include developing a supportive social circle, exercising regularly, eating a nutritious diet, developing coping skills, monitoring your self-talk, choosing to turn negative experiences into positive lessons, and getting professional help when you need it.
