One of the many damaging effects of this pandemic is increased food insecurities. Individuals and families in our community are struggling to put food on the table. Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana is our region’s largest hunger-relief organization and a valued Ball State community partner.
Second Harvest is in critical need of volunteers over the next few months, particularly while Ball State students are home for winter break. They need help in their warehouse and at tailgate distribution sites. Most volunteer opportunities are on weekdays. Social distancing and mask wearing are required and enforced.
As a Ball State employee, you may volunteer during your regular work hours with your supervisor’s approval. Visit Second Harvest's website to view a list of opportunities and the Office of Community Engagement for details about Ball State’s volunteer policy.
