VIA Character Strength Spotlight: Leadership

November 16, 2020

Leadership is one of 24 universal character strengths and is within the virtue category of justice. It is about positively influencing others. Leadership involves organizing and encouraging others to accomplish goals while maintaining team unity and cohesion. You may notice this strength in someone who shares vision or goals that others in a group get behind and support. Leadership can be transactional or transformational.

Is this one of your top strengths? Take the free VIA survey to get a rank order report of all 24 character strengths.

Develop your character strength of leadership by using it in new ways. “Discuss with someone who reports to you about how they can align their top character strength more in their work.”
