More than a quarter of Delaware County households live one crisis away from falling into poverty. These working families—known as ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed)—face daily challenges that impact their health, education, and financial stability.
This year marks Ball State University's 10th year partnering with the Heart of Indiana United Way for the annual Day of Action. As we also recognize the 25th anniversary of September 11, we are reminded of the power of coming together in service to strengthen our community.
Ball State is proud to support the Heart of Indiana United Way's efforts to improve the lives and futures of ALICE families throughout Delaware County.
Beginning Thursday, August 13, the Office of Community Engagement will host a campus-wide Used Book Drive as part of the United Way Day of Action. We invite the Ball State community to join us by donating gently used books to support local Little Free Libraries and Book Nooks.

Help stock more than 35 Little Free Libraries and Book Nooks throughout Delaware County by donating gently used books for readers of all ages.
