Dear students, faculty, and staff,

We are excited to share our newly revamped Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity webpage, where you can find opportunities, funding, and resources for undergraduate research and creative activity all in one place.

Here are four opportunities on the webpage that we especially want to highlight:

  1. Teacher-Scholar Program. An opportunity for first- and second-year students, and first year transfer students to gain hands-on experience working with a faculty mentor and earn $750. If you are interested in becoming a mentor (and receiving $250 per student in your RIA acocunt), join us! Fall applications for students are due September 21, 2026.
  2. Pepsi Grant. Funding ($1,000 award applied to your eBill) for students pursuing mentored research or creative projects. Applications for Spring will open soon.
  3. Internal Grants. Funding (up to $300 per student) to support undergraduate research and creative projects and student travel.
  4. URCA 290. A new zero-credit course for mentored research and creative activity that would otherwise not appear on a student’s transcript. It can be used for the Teacher-Scholar Program, Pepsi Grant, or other research and creative work outside of formal coursework. Students receive transcript recognition, while faculty can formally record and report their mentoring contributions.

Questions? You can now reach us at our new email address: urca@bsu.edu.

Please take a look and share these opportunities with students and colleagues who may be interested!

Thank you,
Dan
