Reading the Room: Enhancing Cross-Cultural Communication Skills

Please join us for a workshop designed to assist you in acquiring and/or strengthening your skills to engage in cross-cultural sensitive interactions! During our 2-hour long workshop, you will learn how to “read the room;” that is, become more culturally aware and competent to accurately understand the non-verbal and verbal communications of individuals with diverse identities. You also will develop an understanding of how your own identities impact your perceptions, assumptions, and behaviors in cross-cultural interactions. Finally, you will create a tangible action plan relevant to your work. Didactic and interactive training approaches will be used.

This workshop is for faculty members and academic leaders (e.g., Department Chairs, Degree Program Directors). We are offering two different opportunities to attend: March 28 3-5pm or March 30 9-11am. A limited number of individuals may attend each session.

To sign up for this workshop, complete the survey on the webpage listed below. The deadline to complete the survey is March 22 at 5pm EST.
