Excellence in Leadership is happy to invite you all to an Evening with Emily Ladau on March 22nd, 2023 to celebrate Women's Week and Disability Awareness Month. Emily Ladau is an internationally renowned disability rights activist, speaker, digital consultant, and writer, and will be visiting Ball State's campus for the Excellence In Leadership speaker series. Emily's career began at the age of ten when she appeared on several episodes of Sesame Street to educate children about her life with a physical disability. She has been published in a range of press outlets, including the New York Times, Self, and Vice. Her first book, Demystifying Disability, was published in 2021 and is an approachable guide to being a better ally to people with disabilities.
She will be sharing her journey to becoming a disability rights activist and share insight and advice to Ball State community members on how to further their activism. This event is in partnership with the Miller College of Business and Diversity & Inclusive Excellence Committee, Women and Gender Studies, Office of Student Life, and Disability Services
She will be here on March 22nd, 2023, from 7:30pm-8:30pm, in Pruis Hall. Admission is free.
