Need some help with your writing? The Writing Center is open for appointments during Summer 1 and 2! We offer 1-1 personalized writing support to help students, faculty, and staff stay on top of their writing this summer. We work with writers in any discipline at any stage of the writing process, whether you're just starting to brainstorm or you want a second set of eyes before you submit your work. Every writer needs a reader, and we're here to help this summer!
In an appointment, you might:
- Read through the prompt for an assignment you just received and work on making a rough plan for the project (we call this a "planning" session).
- Share a partial or complete draft with your tutor, who can help you figure out what's working and where you need more support (feedback session).
- Sit and write in community with someone else! If you want some structure and accountability as you work on your writing, your tutor will help you set a goal for your appointment, and then they'll let you work, checking in every 15 minutes or so to help you stay on track. Accountability sessions are great options for when you're struggling to stay focused or get started.
Tutors are available online and in-person in Bracken Library First Floor West from 12-8 pm Monday-Thursday while summer classes are in session. Visit our website for more information and to make an appointment. Happy writing!
