Summer 2021 Immersive Learning Online Module Certification

Application Deadline: May 12, 2021

The Office of Immersive Learning (IL) offers a professional development opportunity for faculty members interested in teaching future immersive learning courses. This training includes Canvas modules and Zoom discussions covering immersive learning basics, finding a community partner, developing a project idea, and university resource information. The next Canvas training community will begin May 17 and run through June 4.

This opportunity is open to all current, full-time Ball State instructors (adjunct, contract, tenure-track, or tenured). Completing the modules will certify faculty for future grant funding opportunities and course designations in Banner, so faculty new to immersive learning and more experienced mentors are encouraged to apply. Faculty will receive a $250 stipend to complete the 10-module course within the three-week training period. You must be eligible for the payment according to the University’s Supplemental Compensation Policy. Participants can receive cash or have their money transferred into a Research Incentive Account, but you must complete all program modules to receive payment.

To apply, fill out the Summer 2021 Immersive Learning Online Module Certification Application by Wednesday, May 12. Seats are limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Preference will be given to faculty who are scheduled to teach immersive learning classes in the 2021-22 academic year.
