University College invites student organizations to engage with our Student Success Coaches through coaching appointments, workshops and campus outreach, and presentations throughout the 2024-2025 academic year.

Presentations
Success coaches are available to present to student organizations around a variety of topics including setting goals, fighting procrastination, time management, study habits, motivation, stress management, organization, and more. Presentations can be scheduled by reaching out to successcoach@bsu.edu or (765) 285-1178.

Individual Coaching Appointments
University College offers free professional Student Success Coaching to help students gain insight into themselves as they pursue success academically and personally. Through discovery and curiosity, coaches partner with students to develop the necessary tools to create a thriving experience at Ball State and beyond. Coaches often work with students on:

  • adjusting to college life
  • goal setting
  • setting boundaries
  • general communication skills
  • defining core values and beliefs
  • connecting values with motivation
  • discovering strengths
  • identifying learning styles
  • organization and time management
  • major exploration and selection
  • understanding priorities
  • effective professional communication
  • getting connected on campus

Students schedule appointments with coaches through Navigate (bsu.campus.eab.com); student organization leaders can make direct referrals to coaching by reaching out to successcoach@bsu.edu or (765) 285-1178. Coaches meet with students in-person, by phone, and virtually through Zoom.

Workshops and Campus Outreach
In addition to one-on-one success coaching with students, Student Success Coaches also offer a series of skills sessions (workshops), activities, and events throughout the academic year. Workshop topics for the fall include: coping with emotions, major selection, motivation strategies, and combating procrastination. Outreach dates/times/locations are available on the website: www.bsu.edu/studentsuccesscoaching.

Our social media accounts are also a vehicle for keeping connected with our office (Instagram: @bsu_successcoaching; X (Twitter): @bsusuccesscoach). We are happy to collaborate with different organizations in cross-promoting events and activities on campus through our social media accounts as well.

Our student success coaches are excited about continuing to serve our students this semester. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Assistant Director for Student Success Coaching, Char Hawkins (char.hawkins@bsu.edu) regarding student concerns, presentation needs, or other questions about student success coaching.
