Study Abroad in Japan: "Where Are The Women? Feminism in Japan"

Dear Students-

Are you interested in exploring Japan beyond the standard tourist path? A new study abroad program, "Where Are The Women? Feminism in Japan," offers a unique opportunity to journey through Japan while critically examining gender, activism, and culture.

This course moves beyond a typical tour to investigate the rich history and complex realities of gender and power in contemporary Japan. Participants will:

Explore the historical roots of the Japanese feminist movement
Analyze the challenges and opportunities for women in modern politics and the workplace
Discover the vibrant ways women and activists are shaping modern Japanese culture
This program is ideal for students in Women's & Gender Studies, Anthropology, History, Culture Studies, Sociology, Political Science, and anyone passionate about understanding global gender issues.

This program is ideal for students in Women's & Gender Studies, Anthropology, History, Culture Studies, Sociology, Political Science, and anyone passionate about understanding global gender issues. This course also fulfills the Tier 2 Humanities requirement in the current core.
