Students with Disabilities Needed for Online Research Study

September 25, 2024

Dear Student,

You are invited to participate in a two-part study that examines potential experiences of college students with disabilities related to identity and resilience. In order to participate, you must:

Be at least 18 years old
Be enrolled as a student at Ball State University
Identify yourself as having a disability or impairment

PHASE ONE

If you meet the above criteria and choose to participate in this study, you will be asked to complete an online survey that may take about 10-20 minutes to complete. The survey will ask you questions about resilience, disability identity, and your demographic information. If you choose to enter your contact information, you will be given an equal opportunity to receive one of five $20 electronic gift cards to a place/company of your choosing.

PHASE TWO

When you complete the survey, you will also be asked if you would like a chance to participate in a follow-up interview with me (the Point of Contact). This is not required but would be very helpful in answering my research questions! The interview would be conducted over Zoom with the audio recorded and later transcribed. The interview may take 30-90 minutes, depending on your responses. You would also be asked to check the transcript afterwards. After completing this process, you will receive a $40 electronic gift card to a place/company of your choosing.

For more information regarding participation, compensation, and data anonymity, and to participate in the study, please click on the link below or copy and paste it into your web browser to get started. Please carefully read the entire informed consent document.
