Statewide Tornado Drill—Tuesday, March 10

March 06, 2026

The National Weather Service will conduct a statewide tornado drill at 10:15 a.m. (ET) on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

As part of the drill, the Emergency Alert System (EAS) will issue a test tornado warning, and Delaware County’s outdoor warning sirens will sound. This is only a test.

This drill is an opportunity to review severe weather procedures and ensure you know where to take shelter in your building.

If a tornado warning occurs:

  • Move to an interior room or corridor on the lowest floor possible, away from windows and glass.
  • Stay inside and avoid elevators.
  • Crouch low and cover the back of your head and neck.
  • Remain in the shelter area until the storm has passed.

Please note: The usual 11 a.m. (ET) Friday outdoor warning siren test will not occur next week on March 13 due to the statewide drill.
