Spring 2023 Faculty Internal Grants

December 14, 2022

Do you REALLY know what Ball State’s Aspire Internal Grant Programs can do for you?  Here are a few examples.

Faculty International Travel Program, with newly increased funding, facilitates the funding of international academic activity, specifically scholarly presentations, creative exhibitions and artistic performances.

Published Scholarship Support provides funds to aid in expenses associated with publication, reprints, article processing or open access charges, page charges, and subventions. Work must be accepted for publication or published in a refereed or other scholarly journals. New, increased funding amounts can support open access, peer-reviewed publications listed in the Directory of Open Access Journals or for publication in subscription journals that allow some articles to become available openly based on a published fee schedule.

Faculty teams looking for funding to support interdisciplinary research efforts can apply for up to $15,000 through the Advance award. This funding aims to develop and enhance research across two or more disciplines, cognate areas or colleges; with the priority of advancing research in spaces where no single discipline may be suitable.

Need help supporting the creation, production, and dissemination of Arts and Humanities research or creative activity? The Create and the Advance programs have specific approaches just for you. Recognizing the highly competitive nature of external funding for Arts and Humanities, these programs are designed to be an excellent source for initial or mid-stage project development, presentation or performance.

Requested support from either the Advance or Create program can be in the form of a summer stipends, student hourly support, supplemental assigned time, and/or supplies, expenses, equipment, and project travel.

Please visit our website for more information on these and other opportunities.
Specific questions should be directed to aspire@bsu.edu or Sarah Lee, Aspire Program Manager, at 285-5083.
