During my Spring 2026 special assigned leave, I completed a Fulbright fellowship at Turku University of Applied Sciences (Turku AMK) in Finland through the Fulbright Finland Foundation and Turku University of Applied Sciences Fellowship Award. In this presentation, I will reflect on my experiences in international research, teaching, and academic collaboration, including how challenges along the way reshaped my original plans and created new opportunities. I will also share lessons from working across institutional and cultural contexts and consider how these experiences continue to inform my teaching, scholarship, and international collaboration at Ball State.
