The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) involves faculty scientifically investigating the efficacy of teaching practices and then use that information to further pedagogical knowledge in their disciplines.
During this academic year, 14 faculty representing 12 departments from six colleges participated in the SoTL Academy. Throughout the fall semester they familiarized themselves with the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning then conceptualized and designed a research project. This spring they implemented their study, collected and analyzed the data. They will conclude their time in the academy by sharing their preliminary results.
Following the 3-minute Thesis format, SoTL Academy members will present their projects (background and significance, research design, results/outcomes) in 180 seconds using one slide as a visual enhancement.
