Under the banner “United in Song,” Ball State Choirs has reformatted our University Choral Union in a way that invites participation by a broad range of constituents in our Ball State community. The ensemble meets to make music Tuesday and Thursday 4:30-5:20pm, at the end of the work day. Participation is open to faculty, emeriti, staff, administrators, and other BSU affiliates.
Singing is a lifelong activity with demonstrated cognitive, physical, and emotional benefits for people of all ages. This new format allows us to provide that benefit to all of the BSU community and to demonstrate that lifelong aspect for our student population. In short, we want to make this a true University choral Union.
Non-student participants will register through BSU’s Division of Lifetime Learning, for a modest fee of $75

1. Consider singing in the ensemble yourself either now on in the future! We are launching the new year with great enthusiasm on January 6. No audition is required.
2. Please help to share this information with people that you know in the BSU faculty, staff, or administration who might participate in the ensemble—someone you have encountered who has sung in the past, but no longer finds an outlet for that.
Each semester University Choral Union will participate in two campus performances, featuring repertoire that:
Has local ties
Introduces a distant cultural connection
Builds on a specific musical idiom
Builds on a specific vocal technique
Spring performance dates are March 15 and April 25.
