Share Your Story as a First Year College Student to Support Student Success through Charlie Chats!

March 23, 2026

University College is seeking current and former Ball State students, faculty, staff, and alumni to participate in its new "Charlie Chats" speaker series designed to validate student struggles, help them navigate challenges, instill hope, and contribute to belonging for students new to Ball State.

In a 20 minute "Ted Talk"-like speech, speakers are asked to share their unique stories from when they were new college students. Speakers should focus on opportunities and successes they enjoyed, obstacles they faced and how they overcame them, and lessons learned. Charlie Chats will be recorded and posted to the University College website and shared broadly to first year students beginning fall 2026. Many speakers will be invited to offer their stories live in front of first year students.

If you are interested in sharing your story, please complete our speaker interest form.

Completing this form will initiate a follow-up from University College.
