Undergraduate Concerto Competition
Monday, November 9 | 5:30 p.m. | Sursa Performance Hall
School of Music undergraduates will perform prepared solo/concerto selections for a panel of judges. The winners will perform with the Ball State Symphony Orchestra in the spring.

Student Jazz Combos
Tuesday, November 10 | 5:30 p.m. | Hahn Recital Hall
This recital will feature student jazz combos that have worked together during the semester.

Ball State Campus Orchestra
Wednesday, November 11 | 6 p.m. | Sursa Performance Hall
*also available as a livestream
This ensemble features students from across campus and all majors under the direction of graduate student conductors.? Program to include works by Brian Sadler, Antonín Dvorák, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Béla Bartók, and Igor Stravinsky.
GENERAL ADMISSION: $5
STUDENT TICKETS are free in advance (before 3 p.m. on Nov. 11) at the Emens box office, or $5 at the door.

Ball State Campus Band
Wednesday, November 11 | 7:30 p.m. | Sursa Performance Hall

This ensemble features students from across campus and all majors under the direction of graduate student conductors.? Program to include works by Ryan George, John Mackey, Omar Thomas, Aaron Perrine, Frank Ticheli, and Jaime Texidor.

Horn Studio Recital and Horn Ensemble
Thursday, November 12 | 7:30 p.m. | Hahn Recital Hall
This recital will feature the students of Gene Berger, associate professor of music performance (horn).

EM|Two (Electronic Music)
Thursday, November 12 | 7:30 p.m. | Sursa Performance Hall
The EM concert series is a showcase for compositions of electronic and digital media. Pieces may involve loudspeaker playback, instrumental performers, or interactive computer performance systems.

Faculty Recital: Rebecca Burkart, harpsichord
Friday, November 13 | 5:30 p.m. | Hahn Recital Hall
Instructor of Music History Rebecca Burkart presents a faculty recital on harpsichord.

Ball State Wind Ensemble
Friday, November 13 | 7:30 p.m. | Sursa Performance Hall

Under the direction of Thomas Caneva, program to include works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Claude Arrieu, Edvard Grieg, Kevin Day, Robert Washburn, and Frank Zappa (arr. Anderson).

Ball State Choirs with Symphony Orchestra
Saturday, November 14 | 4 p.m. | LIVESTREAM ONLY
This livestream-only concert will feature the Ball State Choirs performing Dvorák's Te Deum with the Ball State Symphony Orchestra. Also included on the program will be The Awakening by Joseph Martin.

Violin Studio Recital
Saturday, November 14 | 7:30 p.m. | Hahn Recital Hall
This recital will feature the students of Yu-Fang Chen, assistant professor of music performance (violin).

Virtual Bassoon Day
Sunday, November 15 | 1 to 4 p.m. | VIRTUAL EVENT
Ball State bassoon professor Keith Sweger will be joined by guest artist Kim Laskowski for a virtual Ball State Bassoon Day. Kim Laskowski is associate principal bassoon of the New York Philharmonic and is on faculty at The Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music.

Youth Symphony Orchestras of ECI
Sunday, November 15 | 3 p.m. | Sursa Performance Hall
The Youth Symphony Orchestras of East Central Indiana are comprised of pre-college musicians participating in ensembles coached by Ball State faculty and students.



COVID-19 SAFETY POLICIES

We look forward to welcoming our patrons back for concerts! To ensure a safe experience for all we ask that you please observe the following safety policies:
  • If you exhibit any symptoms of COVID-19, do NOT attend events or otherwise enter campus buildings and grounds.
  • Face masks are required inside campus buildings at all times. This includes School of Music performances at Sursa Hall and Hahn Hall. Learn more.
  • Please maintain a physical distance of at least 6 feet from other people at all times.
  • Please follow all ushers’ directions regarding entering and exiting performances. Only select seats will be available in Sursa Hall (marked with red dots) and chairs in Hahn Hall will be appropriately distanced. We ask that you please remain seated throughout the performance to ensure that physical distancing is possible at all times.

TICKET INFORMATION

It is highly recommended that all tickets be purchased in advance as seating is limited to allow for physical distancing in accordance with Ball State COVID-19 policies and CDC guidelines.

Tickets are on sale through the Emens Auditorium box office Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Purchase tickets by phone at 765-285-1539 (1-877-99-EMENS) or in person at 1800 W. Riverside Ave.
  • There is no per order charge for tickets purchased in person.
  • There is a $2 per order charge for tickets purchased by phone and picked up at will-call.
  • There is a $4 per order charge for tickets purchased by phone and mailed.
The box office at Sursa Hall will be open starting one hour prior to the concert. Tickets held at Will Call may be picked up at a table in the lobby.
