Save-the-Date: Teaching and Technology Summit April 15, 2022

The Division of Online and Strategic Learning is pleased to announce the inaugural Teaching and Technology Summit, a free virtual event open to Ball State faculty, graduate students, and employees only. Connect with colleagues and share creative ways to innovate the online learning environment, no matter the course modality.

When: Friday, April 15, 2022, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. 
What: Keynote speakers and breakout sessions 
Where: Zoom for video presentations, Microsoft Teams for networking and discussion

The closing keynote speaker will be Dr. Kesha Coker, the 2021 recipient for the Rawlings Outstanding Distance Education Teaching Award. 

Topics at the Summit will include: 

  • Creative Canvas designs
  • How to use instructional technology to bolster student engagement
  • New ideas about co-teaching, badging, and gamification
  • Inclusive teaching and accessibility
  • Innovative uses of the Ball State Quality Matters+ Rubric or the Ball State Canvas Template

Registration for the Teaching and Technology Summit will open in early 2022.

Interested in presenting? Faculty, graduate students, and employees are invited to facilitate individual presentations or full panels on innovative teaching practices and uses of technology. The list of topics above is not exhaustive, so let us know what you have to share about the online learning environment. 

Email with your interest and the topic you would like to discuss. Deadline for submissions is February 1, 2022. Presenters must be available virtually on April 15.
