The Health and Environmental Design Lab at Ball State University is recruiting families for Phase 2 of a research study on how light affects children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Light can affect the body both physically and mentally, in positive and negative ways. This study aims to better understand and predict how children with ASD respond, behaviorally and physiologically, to daylight-related triggers. The findings will help caregivers, therapists, parents, and designers develop policies and technologies that prevent or reduce stress responses to light.

Who can participate: Children ages 5–10 with an ASD diagnosis, supported by medical or school-based documentation.

Time commitment: Two visits, each lasting 30–75 minutes, scheduled around your availability.

Location: Health and Environmental Design Lab, College of Health Building, Ball State University, Muncie, IN.

Compensation: Parents receive $100 per visit, for $200 total.
