Please consider participating in a Nutrition and Health Science research study. Free health data and research subject incentives are available. Your participation can help us better understand the health effects when drinking a popular fiber-enriched soda before a breakfast meal (IRB-FY2026-401).

We will ask you to complete a screener and two additional in-lab visits. At the screening visit we will explain the study and complete several one-time measurements (e.g., blood pressure, BMI). During the other two visits, we will ask you to consume a fiber-enriched soda or a control beverage prior to a breakfast meal. During the study visits, we will collect blood samples. The total in-lab time commitment is ~9.5 hours over the three visits. Additionally, you will be asked to wear a physical activity tracker and record your diet prior to each visit.

By completing our study, you will receive free health information such as:

  • Body composition (e.g., body fat %, muscle mass %
  • Metabolic markers (e.g., triglycerides, blood sugar)
  • Biomarkers related to your gut health

You will also receive a $100 Tango gift card for completing all study visits. Research subject incentives will not be prorated if you withdraw from the study. In other words, you will only receive the $100 gift card if you complete all study visits. Initial screening criteria include age of 18-50 years, and a BMI of 18.5-35.0 kg/m2 (calculate BMI here: https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/educational/lose_wt/BMI/bmicalc.htm). We are flexible with scheduling and have free/convenient parking; however, visits must begin in the morning ~6-9 AM. We will also ask you to arrive fasted (~10 hours) before eating each breakfast meal.
