REMINDER -- Applications for the Provost’s Prize Due December 10

Attention all graduating seniors!

The Honors College is now accepting applications for the Provost’s Prize until Friday, December 10, 2021, at 5:00 P.M.  All seniors welcome to apply; participation in the Honors College is not required.

The prize includes a $1,000 award and a medallion presented on stage at the commencement ceremony if the recipient graduates in May or July. The recipient’s name will also be inscribed on a permanent plaque in the Ball Honors House.

To be eligible for the prize, interested students must:

  • Be a senior graduating in December 2021, May 2022, or July 2022,
  • Have a GPA of 3.5 or higher,
  • Submit one (1) resume,
  • Submit one (1) unofficial transcript,
  • Submit two (2) letters of recommendation,
  • Submit one (1) personal statement, of 500 words or less, detailing achievements and aspirations.

Students should submit complete application packets with the above-listed items by email in PDF format to Coralee Young at cyoung@bsu.edu.  In the email please indicate whether you are graduating in December 2021, May 2022, or July 2022.  Letters of recommendation can be submitted to Coralee directly from the faculty member but must arrive by December 10.  If letters will be submitted separately from your application packet, please indicate who the letter writers are in your email.

A committee consisting of the Associate Deans and faculty representatives from each academic college will select the recipient no later than March 15, 2022. All applicants will be notified of their status after this date.
