Practical Criticism Midwest - Friday, 3/17 at Northwest Hall

March 16, 2023

Mocktail and charcuterie event to follow conference.

Conference Date & Time: Friday, March 17, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Location: North West Hall, Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana

The Ball State English Department is proud to present Practical Criticism Midwest. For the first time, the PCM Conference will be presented as a hybrid event in order to foster the inclusion and accessibility of our presenters and attendees and to practice the health and safety measures consistent with Ball State’s Cardinals Care Pledge.

The Spring 2023 theme is Meeting Points: Stories of Connection. With this theme, we invite students to consider the points where our narratives, experiences, cultures, identities, and beliefs intersect with one another; those meeting points become a place where we can connect regardless of the differences we may possess. They create a space to bridge the divide, allowing for greater human connection. Each presentation is 15 minutes, and panels are followed by a question-answer session moderated by a faculty member.

You are invited to a mocktail and charcuterie event afterwards, hosted by the Music and Humanities Living-Learning Community, from 5-6 p.m. to connect with English Department faculty and graduate students. We hope to see you there!
