Hello,
My name is Ashton Lyvers and I am a graduate student in the Psychological Science Department at Ball State University. I am writing to let you know about an opportunity to participate in a study, “Perceptions of Social Issues and Course Instructors”, IRB NUMBER: IRB-FY2025-108. I am conducting a research study to better understand how students acknowledge current social issues and evaluate their instructors, and you are invited to participate in the study.
If you agree, you will participate in a brief study where you will be tasked with reading over some information and responding to a survey asking you about your thoughts on current social issues and your perceptions of the material you read over. It is expected to take you 5-10 minutes to complete, however you may skip items or quit at any time. More information can be found on the informed consent form at the beginning of the study. You can click the link below to read over this form and decide if you would like to participate. Participation is completely voluntary, and your responses will be kept anonymous. We will not even ask for any identifiable information so no one will know how you responded. Data for this survey will be stored securely, with only the researchers having access. Data will be stored indefinitely for potential future studies. If you are currently enrolled in any PSYS courses, you will be able to receive .50 SONA credits for you participation.
To be eligible to participate in this study, you must be:
· Over the age of 18
· Male
This study is approved by the BSU IRB: IRB-FY2025-108.
