Partner Pledge for Community Engagement

August 11, 2020

Ball State University is grateful for our mutually-beneficial relationships with community organizations and businesses that provide our students, faculty, and staff with volunteering and learning opportunities as well as dining, retail, entertainment, leisure activities, and other services.

As part of the Cardinals Care campaign, we have created the Cardinals Care Partners Pledge to recognize community organizations and businesses that are committed to maintaining healthy and safe environments for employees, customers, volunteers, and guests – including our students and staff.

The partner pledge is not required, but encouraged, among organizations and businesses that provide voluntary entertainment, dining, retail, leisure, and other services to Ball State students, faculty, and/or staff.

The partner pledge is required of organizations and businesses who desire to host Ball State students, faculty, and/or staff for on-site volunteering, learning activities (e.g., service learning, immersive learning, field experiences, internships, etc.) or Ball State-affiliated events (e.g., student organization hosted events, fundraisers, etc.).

Local businesses and organizations that take the Cardinals Care Partners Pledge will be added to the Cardinals Care Partners website on a regular basis and will receive a window decal to publicize their commitment.

We are grateful to the Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce; United Way of Delaware, Henry, and Randolph Counties; Muncie Visitors Bureau; Muncie Downtown Development Partnership, Inc.; and the Village Merchants Association for helping us share the pledge across the community. Please feel free to send the pledge directly to your favorite community partners and service providers.

Pledges will be accepted through September 30, 2020. If you have questions, please contact Erin Moore, Office of Community Engagement, at 765-285-6690 or eemoore2@bsu.edu.
