Please consider participating in a Nutrition and Health Science research study. Free health data and compensation are available. Your participation can help us better understand relationships between our psychological and social experiences and our cardiometabolic health (IRBNet #2232855).
We will ask you to complete an online screener survey and one in-lab visit lasting <2 hours. We will also ask you to wear two small, non-invasive research devices for three days after your visit. At the in-lab visit we will explain the study and complete several one-time measurements (e.g., blood pressure, questionnaires) and a single blood draw. We will also loan you portable blood pressure monitor and a Garmin watch that tracks your activity. You will wear the blood pressure monitor for 24 hours and the watch for 3 days. You will also be asked to record your food intake for those 3 days.
By completing our study, you will receive free health information such as:
- Body mass index (BMI), body fat percent (BF%), and waist circumference
- Blood pressure
- Metabolic markers (e.g., cholesterol, blood sugar)
- Inflammatory markers
You will receive a $50 Tango gift card for completing the study. Compensation will not be prorated if you withdraw from the study. Initial screening criteria include being 18-55 years old and having a BMI of 25.0-29.9 kg/m2 (calculate BMI here: https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/educational/lose_wt/BMI/bmicalc.htm).
If you are interested in participating, please CLICK HERE to complete the online screening survey.
We are flexible with scheduling and have free/convenient parking. For more information about this IRB approved study (IRBNet #2232855), please reach out to Lydia Wiersma at lydia.wiersma@bsu.edu!
