Participants Needed: Cyberbullying on Social Media: Exploring its impact on the Mental Health of University Students- #2015264

Second-year BSU student Hatab Fadera and BSU Faculty Member Dr. Tong Li from the Center for Emerging Media Design and Development (EMDD) invite you to participate in a capstone research project investigating cyberbullying on social media and its impact on students’ mental health.

Study Purpose and Rationale:

Through this research, we hope to understand the influence of social media cyberbullying on students’ mental health, identify the coping mechanisms preferred by students, and provide recommendations to prevent cyberbullying.

Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria:

  • You are eligible for this research if you are 18 years and above. 
  • You must be a university student. 

Participation Procedures and Duration:

This research will include an anonymous online survey and short interviews. Before taking this survey, you will sign a consent form. After giving your consent, you will answer several questions related to cyberbullying (e.g., your understanding of cyberbullying and your experience with cyberbullying). The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

In addition to taking the survey, the researcher would also like to recruit at least four students who have experienced cyberbullying for one-on-one short interviews. Each interview will last up to 15 minutes. If you are interested, please contact the researcher at hatab.fadera@bsu.edu
