Immersive Learning Mini-Course ($250): Apply by May 10

The Office of Immersive Learning is offering a self-paced, three-week online course for faculty members interested in teaching immersive learning courses in a future semester. This training covers immersive learning basics, such as how to find a community partner, develop a project idea, and navigate available university resources. The course will open on May 13th and will close on June 2, 2024. This opportunity is open to all current, full-time Ball State instructors (tenure-line or non-tenure-line). Faculty who complete all course modules, assignments, and discussion boards within the three-week period will receive $250 in their Research Incentive Account. High Impact Practices Summer Scholarship Grant ($2000): Apply by May 17

The Offices of the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Immersive Learning are pleased to announce a summer incentive program that supports faculty writing and submitting scholarly work related to immersive learning or other high-impact classes. This incentive program is open to all full-time Ball State faculty who have taught a "core four" high-impact with the Banner attribute in recent years and are using their experience to complete an article or conference paper/presentation. Faculty who are accepted into the program will receive $2000 to support their summer writing time. High Impact Practices Mini-Course ($250): Apply by June 14

This course is appropriate for faculty at Ball State who would like to embed high-impact practices (undergraduate research, immersive learning, study abroad/away, or diverse perspectives) into a course they teach. The course will introduce faculty to the research on high-impact practices, the progress made in implementing HIPs at Ball State, and the course listing and assessment procedures for faculty teaching HIP classes. The course will be open during the month of July 2024 and will be primarily self-paced and asynchronous. We will have one synchronous meeting (via Zoom) at the end of the course to share final products and reflections. Participants who complete the mini-course will receive $250 in an RIA. (Faculty who have previously completed the HIPs faculty learning community are welcome to enroll in the course but will not be eligible for funding.)
