Cayuse Human Ethics (HE), our new Human Subjects Research (IRB) platform, is now available for your submissions. Bookmark the following hyperlink: https://bsu.app.cayuse.com/

  • ACCESS: Faculty and professional staff have access immediately. However, the system does not yet permit students or non-BSU collaborators to be added as research personnel on a submission. We expect this function to be added soon, but in the meanwhile if you have a student research team, you will not be able to add those individuals on a protocol quite yet and may wish to continue to use IRBNet for new submissions.
    • Students who will be editing and helping to prepare protocols can request access via a request form, starting January 6th.
    • Team members who will not be editing or preparing protocols in the system – this functionality to be added soon!
  • TRAINING AND SUPPORT: Contact Dr. Michael Tagler (mjtagler@bsu.edu), Chair of the IRB and our Cayuse HE Ambassador, for questions or to schedule a consultation.
    • Online Learning and Development training sessions start this week. Additional sessions will be scheduled in January and throughout the Spring semester.
    • In addition, use these links for additional information on Cayuse HE and IRB policies:
  • IRBnet: IRBNet is still active, but starting Monday January 6, 2025, all submissions must be made in Cayuse HE.
    • IRBNet MATERIALS:  A reminder to download and save all your IRBNet applications/materials/approval letters for your currently approved and active studies. You will need these materials for your own records, and to enter in Cayuse HE for modifications and renewals. While you will not be able to submit new protocols in IRBNet after January 6th, you will be able to access the system through the spring term to download your materials.
    • For each of your studies in IRBNet, go to the “Designer” and download each of the documents. In addition, click on “Reviews” to download the approval letter(s). A video demonstrating this process is available here.
