Two new exhibitions at the David Owsley Museum of Art are now on view through December 19, 2025.
Cercle et Carré and the International Spirit of Abstract Art features more than 60 works that explore the influential but short-lived 20th century artistic group "Circle and Square," named after the geometric shapes fundamental to abstract art. This exhibition was organized by the Georgia Museum of Art, University of Georgia, with the addition of works from the David Owsley Museum of Art’s collection.
Indiana Pastoral: The Photography of Lamar Richcreek features nostalgic visual stories of Indiana’s agricultural landscape as captured by the lens of alumnus Lamar Richcreek, who earned a degree in business administration from Ball State in 1969. After a 24-year career in banking, he returned to school, earned an MFA at Vermont College of Fine Arts, and taught for 20 years as an adjunct professor of photography at the Herron School of Art + Design in Indianapolis.
DOMA director Robert La France will lead an overview tour of both exhibitions at 4:00 p.m. on September 22 for faculty and educators. This tour is free and open to the public with no registration required.
