Attention all graduating seniors!

The Provost’s Office is now accepting applications for the Provost’s Prize until Friday, December 12, 2025, at 5:00 P.M.  All seniors are welcome to apply! The Provost’s Prize recognizes high academic achievement including: coursework, fellowships, internships, overseas study, research/creative projects, work experience, awards, performance activities, and volunteer service.

The selection committee focuses on the way in which academic excellence combines with other opportunities—even nonacademic ones—to form a unique educational experience.

The prize includes a $1,000 award (if eligible per student’s existing financial aid) and a medallion presented at Spring Commencement.

To be eligible for the prize, interested students must:

·        Be a senior graduating in December 2025, May 2026, or July 2026,

·        Have a GPA of 3.5 or higher,

·        Submit one (1) resume,

·        Submit two (2) letters of recommendation,

·        Submit one (1) personal statement, of 600 words or less, detailing achievements and aspirations.

Students should submit complete application packets with the above-listed items by email in PDF format to Provostu@bsu.edu. Please indicate your intended graduation date of December 2025, May 2026, or July 2026.  Letters of recommendation may be submitted to Provostu@bsu.edu directly from the recommender but must arrive by December 19 at 5PM.  If letters will be submitted separately from your application packet, please indicate who the letter writers are in your email.

A committee consisting of faculty and Academic Affairs leadership from each academic college will make recommendations to the Provost who will make the selection no later than March 18, 2026. All applicants will be notified of their status after this date.
