If so, apply for the Non-Tenure Line Faculty Academy (NTL-FA), a unique summer professional development experience designed around your needs! 


What to Expect 
Through reciprocal mentoring, idea exchange, and engagement, participants will:

  • Build a strong network of NTL faculty across campus
  • Explore BSU’s resources, policies, and professional development opportunities
  • Reflect on their identity as teachers/scholars and develop strategies for fulfilling careers
  • Document their teaching, research and creative endeavor, and service achievements and consider promotion opportunities
  • Gain insights into work-life balance and well-being strategies
  • Discover local organizations and campus initiatives to enrich their professional journey 

Program Details & Perks 

  • In-person sessions: Summer Session 1 (9:30-11:30 a.m., on 5/14, 5/21, 5/28, 6/4, and 6/11). On-line synchronous sessions are not available.
  • Online community: Exclusive NTL-FA Canvas space
  • Incentive: $750 Recognized Incentive Activity (RIA) upon completion of a final project (e.g., a three-year plan, wellness plan, promotion document, or mentoring/networking plan).
  • Application deadline: April 25, 2025
  • Final project deadline: June 13, 2025, 5:00 p.m., EST 

Eligibility 

  • Full-time, non-tenure line faculty members hired within the last five years. Past participants are ineligible to participate.
  • Interested faculty should obtain approval from their department chairs before applying.
  • Spaces are limited.
