Non-BSU Users Entering Zoom Meetings Will Be Required to Enter Captcha Information

June 09, 2026

Beginning Wednesday, June 10, 2026, in order to reduce the number of unauthorized users (human or not) joining Ball State Zoom meetings, Information Technology will require a user who is not logged in to Zoom using a Ball State username and password to enter Captcha characters in order to join the meeting.

What do I need to do?

There is no action you need to take to set up Captcha for your Zoom meetings; it will display automatically for non-logged in users. However, you should inform any of your Zoom meeting participants who do not normally log in using Ball State credentials that they will need to enter Captcha information before they can join your meeting.

If you need additional information or need help with Zoom, you can contact the Technology HelpDesk by submitting a request or call them at 765-285-1517.
