New Online Form Available to Combine Canvas Course Sections

Information Technology has made a new form available to help faculty to combine sections of their course into a single course in Canvas. You can access the form through the Technology Helpdesk website. The form also contains detailed instructions on how to use it.

NOTE: You may also access the form by opening the Technology HelpDesk website, selecting “Request Services,” then “Course Management & Tools,” and finally, “Canvas – Course Combine Request.”

It is important that you submit your request to combine course sections before the course start date. All existing student activities such as assignments and grades prior to the date of the course section combination will not be reflected in the new primary course.

What is the benefit of combining course sections in Canvas?

If you’re teaching sections of the same course, you can save time by combining sections and use just one Gradebook, and filter grades by Section.
