If so, apply for the Non-Tenure Line Faculty Academy (NTL-FA), a unique summer professional development experience designed around your needs!
What to Expect
Through reciprocal mentoring, idea exchange, and engagement, participants will:
- Build a strong network of NTL faculty across campus
- Explore BSU’s resources, policies, and professional development opportunities
- Reflect on their identity as teachers/scholars and develop strategies for fulfilling careers
- Document their teaching, research and creative endeavor, and service achievements and consider promotion opportunities
- Gain insights into work-life balance and well-being strategies
- Discover local organizations and campus initiatives to enrich their professional journey
Program Details
- In-person sessions: Summer Session 1 (9:30-11:30 a.m., on 5/14, 5/21, 5/28, 6/4, and 6/11).
- Online community: Exclusive NTL-FA Canvas space
- Incentive: $750 Recognized Incentive Activity (RIA) upon completion of a final project (e.g., a three-year plan, wellness plan, promotion document, or mentoring/networking plan).
- Application deadline: April 24, 2026
- Final project deadline: June 12, 2026, 5:00 p.m., EST
Eligibility
- Full-time, non-tenure line faculty members hired within the last five years. Past participants are ineligible to participate.
- Interested faculty should obtain approval from their department chairs before applying.
- Spaces are limited.
