New Exhibit Curated by Archives and Special Collections and Opening Ceremony

The Archives and Special Collections is proud to announce the installation of its newest exhibit documenting the life and career of Steve Bell. Entitled “From the Newsroom to the Classroom: The Life and Lessons of Professor Steve Bell”, the exhibit highlights the many facets of Bell’s life, including his illustrious career as a reporter, his tenure as a Professor of Telecommunications, and his personal life in Muncie. The exhibit features items documenting Bell’s coverage of many national and international events, including the Vietnam War, the Watergate scandal, and the assassinations of both President John F. Kennedy and Senator Robert Kennedy. The exhibit will be on display outside of the Archives and Special Collections on the second floor of Bracken Library until June 30th, 2026.

A ceremony celebrating the newly installed exhibit will be held on Friday, November 14th from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. at the Archives and Special Collections. Requests for accommodations may be directed to Leo Gillis, Director of Archives and Special Collections.
