Ms. Ahrendts ’81 LHD ’10, a New Palestine, Ind., native, earned a Fashion Merchandising degree in 1981 from Ball State’s Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. Her fashion industry career spanned three decades and included the positions of CEO of Burberry, executive vice president at Liz Claiborne Inc., and president of Donna Karan International. In 2014, she joined Apple Retail as senior vice president. One of her many career accomplishments was leading Burberry through a period of extensive global growth.
