NEW Aspire Faculty Programming

January 09, 2025

The Aspire team is excited to share the latest faculty programming designed to better serve current scholarship needs. These two opportunities support junior and established tenure-line faculty.

  1. Proposal Enhancement Grant: This opportunity supports preliminary research or scholarly projects to enhance the expertise needed to seek funding from an external agency. The expected outcome is the submission OR resubmission of a competitive grant proposal to an external funding agency.
  2. Arts & Humanities Emerging Scholarship Grant: This program supports the professional advancement of faculty engaged in scholarly and creative pursuits that use humanistic or any creative discipline. Projects must result in the presentation of a public forum (gallery exhibition, screenings, performances, etc.) or publicly available printed material (monograph, edited collection, journal article).

Eligibility: Faculty members must be in a tenure-line appointment. An individual may be awarded once every four (4) years. Maximum request: $12,500.

  • Tenured: This award may be granted multiple times during one’s appointment at Ball State as long as all prior award reporting and external submission commitments have been met. Deadline: February 1
  • Early Career (Years 1-7 pre-tenure): This award will be granted only once during the Early Career stage (formerly called Junior Faculty). Deadline: November 1
