NEH Summer Stipends – Deadline Friday, August 18 - 5:00 PM

May 17, 2023

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Summer Stipends support individuals pursuing advanced research that is of value to humanities scholars, general audiences, or both. Eligible projects typically result in articles, monographs, books, digital materials, archaeological site reports, translations, editions, or other scholarly resources. Summer Stipends support continuous full-time work on a humanities project for a period of two months.

An outright award of $6,000 is provided for two consecutive months of full-time research and writing. In accordance with NEH guidelines, Ball State may nominate two faculty proposals to submit to NEH. Recorded webinars focused on the application process and general tips as well as one for application writing strategies are available on the NEH SS site.

In a few weeks there will be a live webinar for prospective applicants, introducing the program, describing the application and nomination process, and offering application-writing suggestions. There will be a chance to ask questions, captions will be available, and the webinar will be recorded so others can watch it later.

Date: Wednesday, May 17

Time: 2:00-3:00 PM (Eastern time)
