National Public Health Week is April 1 – 7th!

March 31, 2024

Indiana spends approximately $55 a person on public health annually, which equates to $374 million. Since 2000, the state budget only provides $6.7 - $6.9M of direct funding each year to local health departments (ISDH.org, 2022). Public health is more than just health care. It includes building communities free from pollution, with safe food and water and strong personal relationships. Support your community with @PublicHealth on April 1-7 for #NPHW. Join students and staff from the Department of Nutrition and Health Science in celebrating National Public Health Week! On Tuesday, April 2nd and Friday, April 5th, public health students will be tabling in the lobby of the Health Professions Building, from 11 AM to 3 PM. Join us to receive free “I Love Public Health” swag items, enter a drawing for bags and wattle bottles, and learn more about the public health major, internships, and more!
