Applications for a Spring 2025 internship at the David Owsley Museum of Art (DOMA) will be accepted October 1 through 31.
A museum internship is a semester-long, project-based, structured learning experience. It should be relevant to both the intern’s stated academic and professional goals as well as the museum’s needs. DOMA internships are paid, provide hands-on, practical experience for Ball State University students interested in exploring the museum field, and are available for course credit if coordinated with an advisor in advance. An internship is at least 150 hours and must be completed over the course of the semester during normal business hours at DOMA.
Internships in collection management, curatorial research and planning, museum education, social media/marketing, video/media production, and exhibition design and installation are often offered depending upon museum needs and projects for the semester. Successful applicants may come from any major or discipline, but a strong interest in art is preferred.
Ball State students interested in an internship at DOMA can fill out an application and submit materials (including a cover letter, resume, and transcript) through the link on this webpage.
Interns must attend a museum intern orientation at the beginning of the semester. Learn more about the DOMA intern experience with this video, and contact Maureen Nicholson with questions.
