MOSAIC is a social justice peer education program whose mission is to engage undergraduate students in open dialogues focused on diversity and social justice topics to promote awareness, change, and inter-group understanding. MOSAIC Peer Advocate Leaders are available to present a variety of diversity and social justice workshops, as described below:

To make arrangements for a workshop, fill out our on-line workshop request form at least two weeks in advance. If you would like a workshop on a topic not listed, let us know and we will tailor a session just for you.

Activism: A Visionary for Change
Are you an activist? Do you want to become an activist? Activists are people who see the need for change and advocate for that change. This workshop will teach you how to use your own experiences and passions to influence others in your efforts to improve the world around us

Disability Awareness: Common Attitudes and Feelings Toward Those with Disabilities
Many people have certain attitudes and feelings toward people with disabilities based on stereotypes portrayed in media. This workshop will highlight the realities of those living with disabilities and help participants identify and challenge their own attitudes toward people living with disabilities.

Diversity in Leadership: So What? Now What? Then What?

This workshop is designed to help students understand social justice and oppression by evaluating their role in a diverse society. Students will engage in activities that allow them to experience a new leadership perspective as it relates to identity, advocacy, and intergroup understanding.

Media and Minoritized Populations

In its many forms, media has the potential to shape the way we view, understand, and interact with people. This influence can have impactful and potentially irreversible effects on minoritized populations within our society such as creating and perpetuating stereotypes, biases, and prejudices. Through this workshop, explore the ways in which society if effected by media and reflect on how media impacts you.

Social Media: Activism and Slactivism

The rise of social media has given activism a new platform unlike before. New audiences are gathered, new perspectives are shared, and new ways of interaction have been created. In this workshop learn about how social media and activism play off of one another as well as how the different ways we individually support activism in our use of social media.

Trans: What Does This Mean?

Gender, gender identity, gender expression, and sex; aren’t they all the same? NO! This session will dispel common misnomers associated with gender, as well as discuss the experiences and issues face by trans individuals.
