Information Technology is currently tracking widespread intermittent service disruptions affecting Microsoft Exchange and related Microsoft 365 services.
Microsoft is actively investigating the issue and working to restore full functionality as quickly as possible.
Current Impact
- Email Delivery & Access: You may experience significant delays in sending or receiving emails, intermittent disconnection errors in Outlook (desktop, mobile, and web), or an inability to log in.
- Calendar & Contacts: Shared calendars, meeting invitations, and contact syncing may fail to update or load.
- Related Tools: Other Microsoft 365 services integrated with Exchange may experience intermittent performance drops.
What You Should Do
- Avoid resending delayed messages: Messages sent during this window are queued and will deliver once normal service resumes. Resending duplicate messages may cause delays when systems recover.
- Check the status page for live updates: Please monitor bsu.edu/helpdesk for real-time status alerts and confirmation when services are fully restored.
- Alternate communication: For urgent matters, consider using Microsoft Teams chat or calling colleagues directly.
We appreciate your patience while Microsoft works to resolve this disruption. An update will be posted to the Help Desk portal as soon as new information becomes available.
