After 27 years of serving students, families, colleagues, and her university community, Lori Pence is officially stepping into retirement to serve her church, family and friends.
A reception to celebrate Lori's accomplishments will be held on September 25th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Architecture Building Gallery on the first floor.
A few highlights from her career include:
- Achieved a 59% increase in enrolled CAP students.
- Increased college-wide retention to 87% through data-driven strategies and personalized student support.
- In 2017, created the college’s inaugural Student Support Center, which was later duplicated campus wide for each college.
- Help secure multiple scholarship gifts to assist underrepresented students participate in summer exploratory programs.
- Restructured a historic summer academy, doubling participation and generating a budget surplus.
- Developed a new transfer pathway with the College of DuPage, and recruitment partnerships, including work with Project Lead the Way.
- Planned everything from major college events and commencement ceremonies serving thousands to countless student visits, orientations, recruitment events, and those “just one more thing” projects that somehow always became a thing.
